A Certified Ergonomist respects an ethical stance when promoting the field of ergonomics. Following values and attitudes are central to this.

 

Decisiveness

A Certified Ergonomist puts forward solutions to improve employee well-being and system performance at the level of physical, cognitive and organizational ergonomics.

 

Positivity

A Certified Ergonomist takes a positive approach to the field. In doing so, he/she always strives to add value to ergonomics for users, employers and employees.

 

Expertise

A Certified Ergonomist performs only the tasks for which he is trained or experienced. He or she always functions at an expert level, continuously educates himself or herself and works scientifically based.

 

Progressiveness

A Certified Ergonomist contributes to human-centered design of systems. In doing so, he looks for new solutions and also shares this new knowledge with colleagues. Continuous development as an individual and as a discipline are central to this.

 

Independence

A Certified Ergonomist puts people at the center of his work. He/she assumes an independent and objective role in relation to other stakeholders. The Certified Ergonomist works with all parties who can strengthen ergonomics.

 

Authenticity

A Certified Ergonomist is guided only by substantive motives of the field. In doing so, he/she avoids commercial purposes, deceptive strategies or withholding knowledge and experience.
